An elderly Christian widow in a Christian small group told me this story. Shortly after her husband died, she needed a job and applied for a nursing assistant’s program at her local community college. But she had no money, didn’t qualify for government assistance, and the program was full with no open seats. Regardless, she and her small group prayed for a miracle. Then, in blind faith, she attended the program’s orientation meeting and sat in the room listening to the leaders and making notes. Suddenly, a secretary came to the door, pointed to her, and signaled for her to come out to the hall.
Out in the hall, the secretary said that the college president was waiting to see her in his office. When she arrived at the president’s office, he told her that there had been a dropout in the program and that there was now one open seat that needed to be filled. He said there was a waiting list for this seat, but as he read over the pile of applications, he felt impressed to give her this open seat. He also said that the rules had changed in recent days and that government assistance was now available for her. She was overjoyed at these two miracles and happily began her studies.
But the miracles weren’t over. She graduated the program with honors and was given her first nursing case. Amazingly, her first case was with her own next-door neighbor, a non-Christian who had never spoken to her. While caring for this neighbor, the third miracle happened: The neighbor became a Christian. The widow told me, “God knew I needed nurse’s training and He knew my neighbor needed to be a Christian. God sees our future,” she said, “and He knows our needs before we do.”
That’s very true. The early Christians taught that God knows our needs before we ask and that He answers our prayers before we pray. Triple miracles like this widow had are available to every Christian. We should expect them, accept them, and be thankful for them. Don’t you agree?

Hallelujah is right, Michele! The Holy Spirit’s purpose from God is to comfort us, teach us, and guide us. He does a wonderful and amazing job of it, too. The good news is that His miracles continue daily and weekly. Look for many more in your life. — Owen
I had a similar incident when applying for college and near the end I needed funding to graduate. God sent me a full scholarship that paid off the balance. Hallelujah!
